Sola's Story

When I was offered a chance to go to Belgium and participate in the Failing Forward project I had no idea what it was.

I had never done anything similar before and had very little information about it, even in the first days I was there I was still a little confused.

But as soon as I dived in and let go of the voice in my head that tells me to stay quiet, I had such a great experience.

I didn’t really have strong opinions on failing at first because I had never talked about it with other people.

My opinions changed when I learned what failing actually is and how it’s possible to get through it...

...And get some good things out of it. I am also more aware of how to react and offer support when other people around me are going through the process of failing.

I have failed and I have felt like a failure before, just like everyone else. I know I will keep failing in the future but maybe next time I will move on, instead of beating myself up about it for a long time.

Failing makes us human and everyone does it.

But it’s up to you if you want to take something from it and learn or not.
